What type of floors/surfaces will these products work on? These products will work on all floors. When using the Platinum Cordless Stick Vac on hard floors, be sure to turn off the brushroll. When using the Platinum Cordless Hand Vac on hard floors, flip out the dusting brush to prevent scratching.
Will the Cordless Stick Vac scratch my hardwood floors? We recommend that the brushroll be turned off for all hard floor cleaning applications to ensure your hard floors will not be scratched.
Does the 18 Volt battery need to be replaced? Like all batteries, the Hoover LiNX Cordless battery will need to be replaced over time; however, the LiNX 18V battery does come with a two year guarantee.
How long does the unit need to charge before first use? Charge for 3 hours before first use. After the initial charge, it will take 3 hours to recharge a battery that is completely empty.
Can I use another charger to charge the LiNX Battery? No, only use the genuine Hoover LiNX Charger (Hoover Part #BH50005) to recharge.
Is there any assembly required? Yes, the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vacuum requires one screw to connect the upper handle to the main body, and requires the base be snapped on to the main body. There is no assembly required for the Platinum Collection Cordless Hand Vacuum.
Where is the on/off switch? On the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vacuum and Cordless Hand Vacuum the On/Off switch is conveniently located at your fingertips.
How do you empty the dirt cup? To empty the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vacuum simply remove dirt cup from the back of the cleaner by pressing the grey button located on top of the dirt cup. Once the dirt cup is out of the cleaner, hold the dirt cup over a trash bin and press the bottom release button located towards the bottom of the dirt cup. To empty the Platinum Collection Cordless Hand Vacuum rotate the dirt cup upwards until the unlock symbol is aligned with the graphic on the side of the cleaner. Once aligned, remove dirt cup by pulling away from the cleaner, remove filter assembly and empty dirt cup. To replace, reverse these steps.
How often should I empty the dirt cup? We recommend that you empty your dirt cup after every use.
How do I clean the filter? To clean the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vacuum filter, simply remove the dirt cup from the back of the cleaner by pressing the grey button located on top of the dirt cup. Once dirt cup is out of the cleaner, remove the black cap that houses the filter. Remove the filter and either tap over a garbage can to remove loose dirt and debris, or wash with water until it is clean. Note: Do not operate cleaner without filter or do not operate cleaner with a wet or damp filter. How often should I clean the filter? We recommend that you clean your filters after every use to ensure maximum performance.
Is the filter washable? Yes. Please ensure filter is completely dry before replacing filter into cleaners. We recommend that you let it dry for 24 hours before returning it
How often should I replace the filter? Replace the filter as needed (If filter begins to deteriorate or will not wash clean, replace filter).

How long is the cord? There is no cord on theses products as they are cordless cleaners; however, the cord length on the battery charger is about 5 1/2 feet.
Is there a warranty? Yes. The Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vacuum and Hand Vacuum come with a six year warranty on the product (parts and labor) as well as a separate two year warranty for the battery and charger.
