You asked...

What is the difference between the Bagless and the WindTunnel™ Bagless?

The Answer is...

Both the Bagless and WindTunnel™ Bagless use the same HEPA filter. The Bagless has a 6.9 amp or 12 amp motor and the debris goes through the motor and then into the chamber. You have to slide an indicator knob when you want to use the tools. The WindTunnel™ bagless uses a 12 amp motor and the debris goes directly into the chamber bypassing the motor. You do not have to slide a knob to use the tools; just have the handle in the upright position. For even more comparison information, check out the upright comparison chart.

You asked...

Why doesn't the turbine nozzle spin?

The Answer is...

The agitator brushes are air-driven. Please be sure to place the lower tank perfectly centered on the black rectangular gasket. If the turbine nozzle stops spinning on contact, there must be an air leak. Also, be sure to check the little screen on the bottom of the cleaner (depending on the model number).

You asked...

I have seen some Hoover vacuums with model numbers that are unlike the usual numbers, for example, U53019RM and U54219RM. Why are they different, and what do they mean?

The Answer is...

The "RM" indicates that the cleaner was 'remanufactured'. The cleaner was returned and bought by an outside source. They check the cleaner for quality and add any parts necessary to restore the cleaner. The cleaner is sold at a reduced cost. The U53019RM was originally sold as U5395900 and the U54219RM was originally sold as U5465900. Both of these are WindTunnelâ„¢ Units, differences are the U5465900 has 15" wide cleaning path, switch on the handle, 35 ft. cord, and the DirtFinder feature, the other includes a second longer hose.
